2. Data We Collect
- Account data: name, email address, profile photo, date of birth, gender.
- Profile data: display name, username, bio, city, interests, vibes.
- Event data: events you create, attend, or register for; payment references (UTR numbers) you submit.
- Location data: approximate device location (used to show nearby events); city-level snapshot stored with attended events.
- Messages: direct messages exchanged with other users or the platform.
- Impressions: anonymised peer feedback submitted after events.
- Support tickets: messages you send via Contact Support, Report a Problem, or Send Feedback.
- Usage data: pages visited, features used, device type, IP address (standard server logs).
3. How We Use Your Data
- To create and maintain your account.
- To show you nearby events and relevant people.
- To facilitate event discovery, registration, and planner-attendee communication.
- To send notifications about events, payments, and connections.
- To compute and display Community Impressions on profiles.
- To process and respond to support requests.
- To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms.
- To improve the App based on aggregated, anonymised usage patterns.
4. Location Data
We access your device's location only when the App is in use and only when you have granted permission. We use this data to:
- Show events near your current position.
- Suggest connections who are attending nearby events.
Precise coordinates are processed in-memory and never persisted. We store only a city-level label (e.g., "Mumbai") as a snapshot of where an event took place. You can disable location access in your device settings at any time.
5. Sharing Your Data
We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with:
- Other users: your public profile, event attendance, and impressions are visible to other Meetra users according to your privacy settings.
- Infrastructure providers: cloud hosting (Vercel, Neon), image storage (Cloudinary) — bound by data processing agreements.
- Legal authorities: if required by law or to protect our users from harm.
6. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account:
- Your profile, messages, and personal data are deleted within 30 days.
- Anonymised impressions and event records may be retained for aggregate statistics.
- Legal or financial records (e.g., refund tickets) may be retained as required by law.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access: request a copy of data we hold about you.
- Correction: update inaccurate information via your profile settings.
- Deletion: delete your account from Settings → Account.
- Portability: request an export of your data (Settings → Account → Download data).
- Objection: opt out of non-essential communications via notification settings.

8. Security
We use industry-standard security measures: HTTPS for all data in transit, hashed credentials, and restricted database access. No system is 100% secure; we encourage you to use a strong, unique password.
9. Children
Meetra is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If we become aware of such data, we will delete it promptly.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy. We will notify you via the App or email for material changes. Continued use after notification means you accept the revised policy.
